The new Reno12 Series 5G excelled in maintaining strong signals, seamlessly switching between WiFi and mobile data, and quickly recovering signals in areas with network interference, outperforming other devices in the process.
The OPPO Reno12 Series 5G, powered by AI LinkBoost, showed significant improvements in connectivity, even in weak signal areas, and ensured smooth transitions between different network types. The device excelled in sending photos and videos in congested areas and recorded the fastest signal recovery in places with network interference such as elevators and underpasses.
In a few days, OPPO will launch the all-new OPPO Reno12 Series 5G, featuring the groundbreaking AI LinkBoost technology. This innovation is designed to strengthen connections using a system-level AI model with a 360º Surround Antenna solution consisting of nine individual antennas.
To validate the AI LinkBoost technology, OPPO collaborated with Smart Telecommunications to conduct rigorous trials in various locations in Metro Manila. It is difficult to maintain connection in areas with weak signals. Making a call for up to minutes, playing mobile games or watching a video in basements or underground passes can be quite a challenge.
During a trial done in a shopping mall in the southern part of Metro Manila, the OPPO Reno12 Series 5G outperformed their counterpart devices. The OPPO Reno12 Pro 5G logged an average MBPS of 20.96 and 16.41 in downlink and uplink speed tests respectively while the OPPO Reno12 5G chalked up an average MBPS of 19.69 and 14.77 in the same test. With the OPPO Reno12 Series 5G topping this category against the other devices, which averaged 10 to 14 MBPS, it ensures users can keep up with what is happening in real time even in undesirable locations with faster internet speed.

In this day and age, connectivity has become a must for most Filipinos, if not all. Among the most common connectivity problems encountered by Filipinos is the delay when transitioning from public or private WiFi to mobile data
OPPO and Smart visited a well-known university campus in Quezon City and a residential area within Antipolo City to determine how the AI LinkBoost will maintain a seamless transition from one network to another. In terms of transitioning from public wifi to mobile data, the OPPO Reno12 Series 5G excelled in maintaining connections and a quick switch to mobile data with zero lag time.
The OPPO Reno12 Pro 5G and Reno12 5G ranked first in this trial and maintained an average of 46.94 seconds and 48.24 seconds connection from public WiFi to mobile data, respectively.
In terms of the switch from private WiFi to mobile data, the OPPO Reno12 Series 5G topped the tests with an average of 113.13 seconds followed by the OPPO Reno12 5G with 112.18 seconds. In comparison, the other smartphones recorded between 37 to 44 seconds from public WiFi to mobile data and around 58 to 94 seconds from private WiFi to mobile data. This gives Filipinos the confidence that being disconnected from the internet will not be a problem because of the OPPO Reno12 Series 5G’s wider WiFi coverage.

From visiting famous travel destinations to watching concerts with friends or simply hanging out in malls or cafes, documenting every experience through photos and videos has become a trend for Filipinos nowadays.
To determine how fast the OPPO Reno12 Series 5G can send photos and videos with the AI LinkBoost, the team headed to one of the largest shopping malls in the country and demonstrated superior file transfer speeds in a congested environment. The OPPO Reno12 5G recorded an average file transfer time of 9.58 seconds while the OPPO Reno12 Pro 5G tallied an average of 10.61 seconds, beating the other devices from competing brands which had file sending speeds between 12 to 15 seconds. This is a proof of how fast the OPPO Reno12 Series 5G devices can transfer files faster despite high network traffic.
The Reno12 5G recovered connection in the elevator test within 6.83 seconds while the Reno12 Pro 5G recovered connection from the underpass to an open area in just 8.7 seconds
Recovery Test
Mobile signals usually drop but with the AI LinkBoost powering the OPPO Reno12 Series 5G, this will not be a problem.
OPPO and Smart went to an iconic landmark in Quezon City to check how the OPPO Reno12 Series 5G can quickly recover its 5G or 4G connection from certain spots with bad connection and it showcased faster network capabilities against other devices included in the trial.
The OPPO Reno12 5G had an average speed of 6.83 seconds while the OPPO Reno12 Pro 5G had a fast 8.11 seconds of recovery when walking from an underpass to an elevator. Signal recovery when walking from an underpass to an open area also highlighted the devices’ better performance with the Reno12 Pro 5G and the Reno12 5G logging in an average of 8.7 and 9.9 seconds, respectively. The OPPO Reno12 Series 5G devices ranked first in these categories, displaying its faster network recovery from poor network. In comparison, the other devices rounded out an average of nine to seventeen seconds of switching time from underpass to elevator and 22 to 33 seconds while walking from an underpass out to the open.
