SB19 and Apl.de.Ap have teamed up for an electrifying house party in their latest music video, “Ready,” released under Sony Music Entertainment.
Apl.de.Ap described the concept behind the video, where SB19 returns home to throw a legendary celebration. Shot in Manila but designed to be ambiguously global, the video’s maximalist design symbolizes SB19’s ascent as international stars. Apl.de.Ap expressed pride in celebrating alongside “the next pride of the Philippines.”
Directed by American filmmaker Ben Mor, known for his work with global icons like Katy Perry and the Black Eyed Peas, the video showcases his fascination with Filipino design aesthetics. Despite logistical challenges, Apl.de.Ap praised the outcome, aiming to showcase a visually striking side of the Philippines.
SB19’s Pablo highlighted the unconventional creative process, influenced by a more Western approach rather than traditional storyboarding. He praised Apl.de.Ap’s infectious energy and the enthusiasm of everyone involved, emphasizing the shoot’s enjoyable atmosphere.
Justin echoed the sentiment, noting the refreshing break from their usual narrative-driven videos, describing the experience as more fun than work.
“Ready” stands as a monumental collaboration between SB19 and Apl.de.Ap, blending their talents into a vibrant club anthem perfect for any season. The track, co-written by Apl.de.Ap, Jean-Baptiste, Vince Nantes, and Denzel, with production contributions from SB19 members Pablo and Josue (Radkidz), is now available on all digital platforms worldwide via Sony Music Entertainment.
